Under the general direction of the Principal Structural Engineer, the Structural Engineer manages the planning, design and construction of civil engineering works with structural bias, including preparing tender and contract documents, site supervision, investigations and feasibility studies. The post holder will also manage staff on construction sites to ensure that functional requirements and performance specifications for projects are met, financial control is maintained and safety and the environment are protected. The Structural Engineer will be expected to be a specialist in the areas of bridge, marine or building engineering and must be able to work with a significant level of autonomy.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and possess P. Eng, C. Eng, MICE or an approved equivalent. A minimum of three (3) years’ post professional designation experience with a minimum of seven (7) years overall post qualification experience in mainstream structural engineering with an emphasis on marine, bridge or building engineering with experience managing construction sitres and financial control, is required.
