Duties:                       Support disciplines within CSU and the Operations team during Installation, Commissioning, and Startup, in order to maximize system reliability and availability. Evaluates the installation of Vendor Packages against meeting compliance requirements and provides technical support of equipment performance during commissioning and startup. Ensures that Bechtel and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility. Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into every aspect of Commissioning/Startup activities. Actively participates in safety programs. Receives operational surveillance, administrative supervision and technical guidance from commissioning and startup management. Objectives are defined, and results are subject to supervisory review. Establishes and maintains contacts with client, supplier, regulatory bodies, project management, engineering, and field personnel. Represents startup on project teams as assigned. Reviews Commissioning/Startup plans, schedules, and works with team members to meet completion dates. Provides technical guidance and at times overall project startup supervision. Coordinates between project engineering, construction, specialty staff groups, clients, and vendors. Inputs to project management, engineering, and construction to ensure commissioning and startup requirements are incorporated into project activities, including review of project designs and construction to ensure plant operability and operating personnel safety. Provide input and support coordination during detailed phases of, commissioning, startup, operations, or maintenance for a project, including reviews of designs for plant operability and safety and jobsite commissioning and startup as directed. Performs work that involves conventional practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting priorities, unsuitability of conventional methods, or difficult coordination requirements. Establishes and implements plans, instructions, procedures, and work process improvements to ensure the safe, timely, and economical delivery of Commissioning / Start up activities to meet project requirements. Prior to site mobilization, produces, reviews, or finalizes Startup and Operating procedures and manuals. Integrates interdisciplinary schedule requirements and constraints to establish logical work sequences for assigned disciplines or specialties. Works with the contractors and others to coordinate work sequences with the total project plan. Responsible for jobsite operations including onsite activities of Bechtel, subcontractors, suppliers, clients and their representatives and others as may be assigned within area of responsibility. Preparing reports and forecasts, including summary of CSU progress and forecasting of gas nominations to owner. Monitors the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.

Position requires travel across unanticipated locations throughout U.S. based on the client site and Vendor shop visit. Travel required would be approximately 10%.

Requirements:                Must have a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Chemical Engineering, or a related field and 7 years progressive, post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a Startup Process Engineer related position. Position requires experience in: Commissioning, startup, operation, maintenance, and testing of Process & Utility Systems/Components of Oil & Gas Processing Facilities; Engineering systems, applications of startup and operations; industry and regulatory standards and criteria pertinent to startup, maintenance, operations, or testing; MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and other relevant applications like Aconex, Set Route, Agile, Navisworks; Project workflows from design, estimation, construction administration and coordination, and fabrication; Designing LNG facilities; and Commissioning and Startup of Electrical driven refrigeration compressors.
