Description

Software Engineer w/Zoox Inc. (Foster City, CA) Design and implement highly scalable and reliable web applications to support Zoox's autonomous robotaxi service under the supervision of more senior engineers. Collaborate with software engineering teams, PMs, designers to build new features. Collaborate with experienced engineers to enhance existing software systems by optimizing latency, CPU/memory usage, and database queries. Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers and remote operators to build full stack web applications to monitor and support our fleet at scale, provide in-vehicle visualization systems and provide live support to our growing rider base. Write clean, modular, and well-tested code for both front-end (React.js) and back-end (Node.js, Python) services, integrating with internal APIs and microservices. Enhance database performance by optimizing SQL queries and indexing, ensuring the system can handle high volumes of fleet data efficiently. Investigate and resolve production issues, debugging logs, and telemetry data to maintain system reliability and minimize downtime. Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Scalable System.  Requires 2 years of experience in a Software Engineer, Technical Analyst, or related position performing software development. Experience must include the following: working with data structure and algorithms to improve application performance; writing clean and well-tested code for front-end and back-end applications; working with Front End UI Framework, Vue, React or Svelte and web framework, Flask or FastAPI; and utilizing JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or Python.
