- Process & Tooling Engineer
Description
As the Process & Tooling Engineer, you will be joining a dynamic team at a growing manufacturing company in a critical technical leadership role. This is a hands-on, shop-floor position responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining die casting processes and tooling to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness throughout the manufacturing operation. This role will work closely with production, maintenance, quality, tooling, and management teams to drive continuous improvement and support business growth. Additional duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Develop knowledge base of the customer’s tooling, in order to function as the die cast tooling SME.
Manage the preventative maintenance, repair, and organization of die cast and trim tooling.
Coordinate with tooling vendors and toolroom on die design, repairs, and tooling modifications.
Work closely with quality, maintenance, toolroom, scheduling, and production teams to minimize downtime and maintain production targets.
Provide leadership in developing the Engineering Department through recruiting and mentoring junior engineers and interns.
Develop and maintain documented process parameters, work instructions, and setup sheets for all alloys and products.
Improve and expand automation systems across manufacturing departments to increase productivity and reduce manual operations.
Support future equipment installations, facility layouts, and plant expansion projects.
Provide technical support to all departments with accurate 2D drawings, 3D models, tooling layouts, and engineering documentation.
Support new product launches and organize initial validation trials.

Requirements
Experience and Qualifications:
- Strong safety mindset and dedication to helping drive safety culture.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years’ experience as a Process/Tooling Engineer in a foundry environment (strong preference to Aluminum HPDC foundry).
- Desire to work in a growing company with the opportunity to influence culture and capabilities.
- Strong mechanical comprehension and ability to support the production, maintenance, and tool room teams as needed.
