Description
Position Summary: Oversee construction effort of assigned projects to ensure they are constructed in accordance to Federal/State code requirements, on budget and meeting the proposed timeline. Act as a liaison to coordinate communication between between all stakeholders. Collaborate with internal teams to estimate projects and write bid proposals. Review and approve purchase requisitions, payment approvals, sending invoices, and change order requests. Perform monthly financial reviews including labor progress reporting, cost projections, budget updates and projected billings.
Essential Functions:
- Manage life cycle of project from award to completion
- Create and maintain construction schedules using critical path method
- Develop schedule of values integrated into MS Project Schedule
- Ensure that all company client and project policies, procedures and standards are adhered to and understood by team(s)
- Manage all financial aspects of project and be able to generate forecasts, prepare monthly
- billings, change orders, subcontracts and supplier arrangements
- Organize and maintain project documentation and logs
- Ensure the wage determination for each job is accurate
- Play an active role in mentoring and training of project employees
- Plan, organize and direct production in accordance with the contracted scope of work
- Manage relationships with customers, inspectors and other trades
- Manage material and personnel requirements necessary to meet project schedule and budget
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Prepare and submit material and project submittals for customer approval
- Estimate projects, task orders and/or assist estimators with input on potential projects
- Develop and submit RFIs as required for clarification on project requirements
- Attend job site meetings, as required
- Manage compliance with material and equipment manufacturers
- Maintain Safety and Quality Control requirements
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum of 5 years of Project Management related experience, managing multi-size crews
- Minimum of 2 years of Project Management related experience on Federal or State contracts
- RCDD certification, preferred
- Experience performing small and large projects as a prime or subcontractor
- Experience with Data, Voice, Fire Alarm, Intrusion, CCTV, Audio, Video, Nurse Call, Mass Notification, and Building Controls and various other systems a plus
- Bachelor's Degree with a focus on Network Design, Information Technology, Construction Management or equivalent years of experience in job related field preferred
- Experience with estimating software ConEst Intellibid or similar software
- Procore experience, a plus
- Proficient knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes and construction safety
- Valid California Driver's License
- Subject to pre-employment background check, drug screening and references
- Possible security clearance may be required
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Courteous, professional and enthusiastic
- Demonstrate an initiative in completing all tasks at hand in a timely manner
- Ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and achieve objectives
- Ability to maintain a professional business image
- Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Visio and CAD a plus
