HEAD OF RISK & COMPLIANCE (LAW FIRM) - COMPLIANCE EXP FROM PROFESSIONAL SERVICES (ACCOUNTANTS, LAWYERS ETC) & STAFF MGT EXP REQUIRED

£90K - £120K + bens & bonus Hybrid ( City of London)

Our client, a leading Law firm, are seeking a Head of Risk & Compliance reporting to the Director of Compliance (MLRO & MLCO) to work closely with the Director to support the firm's governance, risk and compliance framework and manage the team. Duties will include;

1. Oversee the effective management of the shared compliance inbox, ensuring that processes for client and matter onboarding requests are operating efficiently, consistently, and in line with regulatory and firm requirements whilst having regard to agreed escalation procedures.
2. Overall responsibility for projects designed to strengthen the onboarding/gatekeeping function and improve the client and matter onboarding process, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and firm-wide compliance priorities.
3. Act as the 'first port of call' for queries on AML CDD, source of funds and related concerns and work collaboratively with the team in dealing with queries on general risk and compliance matters and escalate where required and in accordance with the firm's governance structure.
4. Assist in the development, implementation and review of compliance policies, procedures and controls, ensuring they remain effective and proportionate.
5. Deliver training and support to other team members and to the wider firm including participation in firm wide presentations and awareness raising exercises.
6. Oversee central compliance registers, preparing management information and reporting to support effective governance and decision-making.
7. Build trusted and collaborative working relationships with partners and colleagues and engage professionally and responsively with clients and external parties.

You should be a graduate with relevant experience in compliance and risk management including managing a team, from another law firm or other similar professional services businesses eg Accountants, Surveyors. The role is hybrid ie 3d pw in very pleasant offices in the City of London.
