Saint Paul College seeks energetic and dedicated individuals to apply for the unlimited, full-time (1.0) Electrician Instructor position. In the Electrical Technology program, all classes are taught on campus during the day. Faculty members in electrical technology engage with students through hands-on labs and mock-ups. This program is taught in a cohort model with up to 24 students in a class. This faculty member will be teaching either first or second semester students. Successful applicants will have experience in electrical maintenance and industrial settings.
Instructor is responsible for:
Provide classroom instruction, evaluate and advise students.
Develop and/or revise curriculum.
Participate in department meetings, program advisory committee meetings, and collegewide events and open houses.
Maintain technical knowledge in the field through active participation in professional development organizations and events.
Promote and recruit programs within and outside of the College.
Promote diversity and cultural competency.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean or Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Salary Range:
Please note that the full salary range for a nine-month, academic year appointment is $43,067 - $94,542; initial salary placement for new Minnesota State College faculty is between $43,067 and $71,893 with a 2.5% wage differential, depending on academic credentials and years of creditable professional experience.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Two-year diploma in an electrician program or completion of a registered electrician apprenticeship program.
Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience as a licensed electrician in residential and commercial.
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
State of Minnesota Class A Journeyman Electrician License
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience with a diverse group of students.
Teaching in a community/tech college environment.
