Description
We are seeking a highly qualified Forensic Engineer to serve as an expert in our clients’ litigation and dispute resolution matters. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, the ability to analyze complex engineering problems, and the communication skills necessary to present findings clearly to attorneys, clients, judges, and juries.
What you'll do:
- Investigate mechanical failures, accidents, and product defects
- Conduct site inspections and evidence evaluations
- Perform root cause analysis using sound engineering principles
- Prepare clear, defensible expert reports
- Support depositions and trial testimony (experience level dependent)
- Collaborate with attorneys, insurers, and technical teams
Requirements
- B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred
- For experienced candidates: prior forensic / expert witness or litigation support experience
- For entry candidates: strong mechanical background and interest in forensic investigation
- Knowledge of machinery, safety systems, and applicable standards (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences
