Description
Electrician- FederalFortis Native Group is hiring a full-time Electrician for our Southern California contract supporting NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO. The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. This position performs preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with applicable NFPA, NEC, and contract requirements while ensuring safe, reliable, and uninterrupted facility operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installing electrical equipment and systems for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair measures of all electrical equipment incompliance with all NFPA and NEC codes ensuring operational readiness and respond to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety and operational concerns.
- Diagnose causes of problems and/or failures in electrical systems for the purpose ofidentifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs.
- Respond to customer-related requests timely while being thorough and organized. This includes utilization of CMMS to document all repairs, improvements, and changes to onsite building assets.
- Maintains, repairs, and ensures all equipment is in proper working condition including all components of the HVAC systems, water treatment systems, emergency generator systems, doors, and various other mechanical systems.
- Orders replacement items through approved purchasing protocols and works with outside vendors regarding repairs to existing equipment.
- Perform any additional duties on an "as required" basis where such duties are within the scope of contractual responsibilities.
- Issue reports and summaries as required for onsite and regional management.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship
- High school or equivalent
- Driver's License
- 3+ years of electrician experience
- OSHA Safety.
- Knowledge of HVAC contractual requirements and creation of maintenance related schedules.
- A general understanding of Preventative Maintenance is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- NAVFAC MO-200 ,or under standing compliance
- College degree or certification in related field desired.
- Prior experience working with Federal contracts.
- HVAC industry experience, or former Mechanical technician experience.
- Auxiliary Generator Systems
- Fire Protection Systems
- Roll up Doors
- BAS experience a plus.
- Site Management and supervision of others a plus
