Commercial AV/UC System Design, Pre-Sales, and Commissioning

The Opportunity
We are hiring a Senior AV Design Engineer to join our Design Engineering team. You will own system design, pre-sales engineering, and commissioning for conference rooms, boardrooms, training spaces, operations centers, and executive briefing environments. You will work across Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Cisco Webex, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Shure, and Q-SYS platforms, partnering with Sales, Project Management, Installation, and Service to deliver complete solutions from concept through final acceptance.
What You Will Do
Develop AV system designs including signal flow diagrams, equipment layouts, and rack elevations
Create engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, and bills of materials
Design Unified Communications solutions across Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and Cisco Webex platforms
Configure DSP platforms (Biamp, Q-SYS, Shure) and specify control system requirements for the programming team
Configure network settings, VLANs, QoS, and AV-over-IP infrastructure
Lead pre-sales discovery, conduct site surveys, and translate customer requirements into technical solutions
Develop technical proposals, scope of work documents, bills of materials, and budgetary estimates supporting Sales
Verify installed systems against design specifications and resolve commissioning issues
Provide escalation support to Service and Installation teams and deliver end-user training
Maintain currency with emerging technologies and manufacturer product lines
What We Are Looking For
Minimum 5 years of total AV/UC industry experience, or 2 years in a dedicated AV design or engineering role
Proficiency in DSP configuration and commercial audio system design
Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and Cisco Webex certified devices
Strong networking fundamentals including IP addressing, VLANs, QoS, and AV-over-IP
Ability to produce technical drawings using AutoCAD, Visio, Bluebeam, or equivalent
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and written communication skills
AVIXA CTS required. CTS-D or CTS-I strongly preferred
Manufacturer certifications (Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Shure, Q-SYS) preferred
Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred but not required with relevant experience
