Description
System service tech responsibilities include on going maintenance and troubleshoot of existing systems to diagnose problems and identify solutions to keep commercial systems operating at peek performance. We service fire, security, access control, and CCTV systems for commercial clients.
• Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and specifications
• Work with electronic testing devices and proper use of various specialty tools
• For fire alarm systems, an understanding of NFPA 72, Building codes
• Obtain career certifications and clearances required to work in this industry
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
• Education minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• Pass background screenings
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to use technology (service apps, etc...)
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
• Course work or training in low voltage electronics
• Prior experience with fire, security, CCTV, or access control systems
• Fire Alarm certifications such as a CFAT or NICET
• Proficiency working in Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel
• Basic understanding of IT functionality
• AESBL – Alabama Electronic Security Board of Licensure
• Fire Alarm Technician certification (NICET or CFAT)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Able to safely and effectively use general hand and power tools
• Lift and carry a minimum of 75 lbs., push and pull greater than 75 lbs
• Climb ladder reaching a height of at least 12 feet and/or use a man lift to perform services
