Description
The Office of the Special Commissioner of Investigation for the New York City School District (“SCI”) is seeking an experienced and self-motivated professional to serve as Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (“Deputy CISO”) to support cybersecurity and IT modernization initiatives. The Deputy CISO will assist in overseeing SCI’s IT Unit, strengthening the agency’s cybersecurity posture, and lead in technology risk-reduction and modernization initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (“CIO”), the Deputy CISO will ensure compliance with citywide information security policies, standards, and OTI directives.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Commissioner, CIO, and other agency leadership to implement day-to-day IT operational best practices and to design and deploy new systems that enhance SCI’s investigative and operational capabilities. This role requires strong hands-on experience supporting Microsoft 365, with particular emphasis on the effective use of the full suite of Microsoft tools and services.
Significant knowledge of citywide and agency IT standards, security frameworks, and policies is required. Experience with Salesforce, network design, and system implementation is highly desirable.
