Principal Data Engineer, Krikey, Inc., San Francisco, CA. Responsibilities: Drive adoption of data engineering best practices, standards, and methodologies. Design and implement scalable data pipelines, warehouses, and lakes, developing data models and schemas to meet business requirements. Collaborate with data scientists/analysts to translate data needs into technical solutions. Leverage big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for large-scale data processing and analysis. Establish and enforce data quality standards and implement data governance policies. Design and deploy data pipelines/stores on cloud platforms, optimizing infrastructure for cost and performance. Solve complex data engineering challenges using innovative approaches. Stay current with data engineering trends, mentor junior engineers, and foster innovation. Proactively resolve production errors and document results. Lead engineering R&D and project scoping for new product lines, lead trainings/code reviews, manage production deployments/outages, and assist with AI training pipelines. Fully remote position.Requirements: Master’s degree in computer science, information systems management, engineering, or related discipline and 6 years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of delivering successful data projects. Must also possess: 5 years’ experience with:  programming languages like Python, Scala, or Java; with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure); and with data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes. Must successfully complete competency-based interview. Fully remote position.
