Description
Security Event Traffic personnel support safe and efficient pedestrian and vehicle movement throughout Henry Maier Festival Park. They ensure controlled access, monitor crowd and vehicle activity, support perimeter flow, respond to incidents, and maintain a safe public environment under the supervision of the Traffic Supervisor. Personnel also assist with emergency routing and monitoring for unauthorized access attempts.
Control and direct pedestrian flow at designated walkways and access points.
Manage crosswalks, foot-traffic choke points, and temporary public access routes.
Ensure ADA routes remain open and accessible.
Direct and monitor vehicles entering controlled areas.
Monitor delivery trucks, shuttles, production vehicles, and rideshare activity.
Observe and report suspicious or dangerous behavior involving vehicles or pedestrians.
Identify unauthorized access attempts and immediately alert supervisors.
Assist with crowd control outside the venue and observe crowd behaviors.
Respond to emergencies, disturbances, accidents, or unauthorized entry.
Assist with emergency ingress/egress routing when directed by supervisors.
Maintain professional radio communication with supervisors.
Assist with placement and removal of barricades, cones, and signage.
Remain at assigned post until properly relieved.
Perform other duties as assigned; be prepared for reassignment anywhere on grounds.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods and walk long distances.
Ability to bend, reach, and lift 25 lbs (barricades, cones, signs).
Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, wind, and low-light conditions.
Ability to operate radios and follow communication protocols.
May be required to work near barricades, narrow spaces, or tight traffic-control points
Must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance at all times
Light/Medium Work: Lifting 30 pounds Maximum, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
Ability to work effectively with others and follow instructions.
Ability to remain calm when interacting with emotional, agitated, or intoxicated guests or
drivers.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with large crowds.
Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in traffic control, event operations, or public safety.
Familiarity with radio communication procedures.
Experience working at large-scale outdoor events or festivals.
