Job Summary
Full-Time and Permanent; 7.5 Hours/Day; 252 Days/Year; 12 Months/Year; Grade E
Provides advanced technical support for the installation, maintenance, and repair of servers, hyperconverged infrastructure, networking devices, security systems, software, and related technology equipment. Delivers high-level troubleshooting and consultation to district users, including teachers, staff, students, and administrators. Supports Microsoft server environments, virtualization platforms, backup systems, and enterprise infrastructure technologies.
Supervision
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Network Services Manager.
Essential Functions
Maintain and support administrative and instructional technology systems, including Microsoft Servers, VMware environments, and backup systems.
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain servers, hyperconverged clusters, operating systems, and applications according to established standards.
Provide advanced troubleshooting and system recovery for server operating systems, virtualization platforms, and storage systems.
Administer backup and disaster recovery processes.
Maintain and manage security camera servers in coordination with infrastructure and security personnel.
Support hyperconverged clusters, including capacity management, performance tuning, and firmware/software upgrades.
Direct and assist network engineering efforts in diagnosing and resolving system issues.
Collaborate with database administrators, analysts, system administrators, and users to assess system needs.
Maintain accurate system documentation and service records.
Provide training and support to site-based technical staff.
Assist with system-wide technology projects, migrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
Coordinate with vendors for major deployments and support contracts.
Serve on-call during nights and weekends for urgent issues.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Technical Proficiency In:
Microsoft Windows Server systems and Active Directory
DHCP and DNS
VMware ESXi and vCenter administration
Nutanix Prism administration
Hyperconverged infrastructure solutions
Backup and recovery solutions
Security camera server systems
Network monitoring tools
Ethernet switched networks, TCP/IP addressing, and routing
Advanced troubleshooting of servers, storage, and network environments
Additional Skills:
Strong knowledge of Microsoft network services, account administration, client configuration, application deployment, DHCP, and DNS
Basic knowledge of Linux server systems
Experience with hardware and operating system troubleshooting
Experience with high availability and disaster recovery configurations
Ability to develop system documentation, project plans, technical reports, and training materials
Strong communication, customer service, and professional skills
Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Ability to work independently and solve complex technical problems
Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience
Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred) in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or multiple years of server and network support experience.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
License/Certification
Valid driver’s license required.
Industry certifications (preferred), such as Network+, Microsoft, VMware, Nutanix, or backup system certifications.
Physical Requirements
Ability to drive, stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, twist/turn.
Push/pull up to 50 pounds; lift/move up to 20 pounds for at least 35 feet.
Work Environment and Conditions
Normal office environment risks.
Subject to changing priorities, frequent interruptions, and high user demand.
May require after-hours and weekend work.
