Description
Job responsibilities and duties
Product Development: working with new and existing suppliers as to raw materials
specifications, developing alternative raw materials, alternative suppliers, proposing
improvements to current products and developing new products, execute trials and trial
productions. Conduct statistical interpretation of trial results, develop products for new
markets.
Process Development: analyze the company’s production processes and proposing
improvements to reduce cost, increase capacity, reduce waste.
Work independently on and participate in ISO 9001 activities such as internal audits,
management review meetings, corrective actions
Write reports, reviews, proposals, and summaries.
Analyze and propose revisions to methods of operation, material handling, or equipment
layout.
Interpret and produce engineering drawings and schematic diagrams.
Propose quality and reliability standards to management.
Resolve problems by examining and analyzing data; proposing corrective steps.
Become familiar with applicable ASTM and ISO standards.
Develop protocols for laboratory and pilot scale testing.
Provide technical customer support.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline.
Punctuality and reliability, work effectively in team environment, adhere to all safety
regulations and operating procedures
Key skills
Communication skills: ability to speak with company personnel at various levels, suppliers,
and customers. Ability to write detailed technical reports and present them to
management.
Team working skills: ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Technical skills: ability to understand complex machinery and systems.
Analytical skills: ability to visualize, articulate, or solve both complex and uncomplicated
problems. Ability to statistically interpret results.
Computer skills: ability to work with Microsoft Office programs and other programs as the
need arises, e.g. Minitab.
Attention to detail: ability to pay attention to the minute details of the job.
Record keeping: ability to document actions.
Work environment
Must be able to lift and carry weights of up to 50 pounds.
Position will be exposed to indoor and outdoor environments with varying noise levels.
Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, climbing and twisting in
the performance of various tasks.
Ability to be on one’s feet for extended hours.
