About the role
DNV Energy Services USA, Inc. seeks an Engineer to work at our office in Oakland, California.
Job Duties:
- Review and verify technical merits of business customer energy efficiency applications, including calculation of energy savings and verification of equipment specifications.
- Perform customer virtual inspections and assessments to determine and verify the installation of energy efficient equipment at Utility commercial and industrial businesses.
- Interact with customers to address questions or concerns about the installed equipment or program information.
- Conduct virtual facility walk-throughs to identify energy efficiency opportunities and generate corresponding energy reports.
- Work with customers and contractors to inform them of program service offerings.
- Responsible for project management support and database management support.
- Support for Weekly, Monthly, and Annual reporting. Support Engineering team with New Measure Development.
- Support Junior Engineers with technical guidance.
- Evaluate new technologies through relationships with manufacturers, distributors and contractors.
- Perform database queries and program data analysis.
- Educate customers and contractors about the energy efficiency rebate program and opportunities with clean energy.
- Actively engage with the team and other colleagues across functions, sharing knowledge and ideas in support of innovation and customer success.
- Role is hybrid allowing periodic work from home within a reasonable commuting distance of the Oakland, CA office.
Salary Range: $133,390-$148,000/year

About you
Main Requirements:
Master's degree in Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Renewable and Clean Energy or related field of study and two (2) years of experience required as a Energy Engineer, Associate Engineer, Assistant Professor or related role where required experience gained.
Special Skills: Also requires experience in the following:
- Passing of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) in Electrical and Computer;
- Green LEED Certificate (current or expired);
- Performing energy saving and financial calculations related to various Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs);
- Developing procedures for verifying energy savings;
- Recommending use of utility or energy services that minimize electric footprints through assessments;
- Evaluating building designs for energy performance;
- Energy codes and standards (IECC, ASHRAE, etc.) and how they apply to project applications; and
- Performing assessments akin to ASHRAE Level 1 energy audits.
