Description
The Counsel, Enterprise Risk Management supports the design, implementation, and oversight of the organization’s enterprise-wide risk management program. This role partners closely with senior leadership to identify, assess, and mitigate clinical, operational, financial, and strategic risks while promoting a culture of risk awareness and patient safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with senior leaders to support strategic planning and execution of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program
- Lead enterprise risk assessments, including Board-level and senior leadership engagements
- Develop and maintain standardized risk assessment, scoring, and reporting methodologies
- Prepare and present the annual institutional risk report
- Support clinical and corporate risk management initiatives, including patient safety and event reporting
- Collaborate with insurance and captive operations to align coverage with organizational risk exposure
- Participate in investigations related to patient safety and risk events
- Support management of property, casualty, and liability claims in coordination with legal counsel
- Provide cross-functional leadership and risk guidance across Legal, Finance, Compliance, Operations, IT, and HR
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Juris Doctor
- Minimum of two years of legal practice experience
- Active license to practice law in the State of Ohio
Preferred
- Experience in healthcare risk management
- Experience with insurance, captive insurance, risk finance, or enterprise risk management
